Bridgepoint Development Capital (“BDC”), a London based investor in small and medium sized growth companies, has announced a significant investment in Inspiring Learning to accelerate the company’s growth plans. BDC is part of Bridgepoint Europe, one of Europe’s largest professional private investors which has invested in a range of companies in different sectors over the last 25 years including well-known names such as Cambridge Education Group and Infinitas Learning - publisher of content and e-learning materials for primary and secondary schools and FE colleges across Europe - Fat Face and Prêt A Manger.
Jason Andrews, Inspiring Learning COO, said “Having spent time with BDC on our Kingswood centres, they have seen with their own eyes our focus on learning outcomes, the positive impact our residential experiences have on developing young people and the fantastic team who are at the heart of what we do.”
- BDC’s new investment will be used to:
- Support and expand Inspiring Learning’s values and ethos;
- Expand the range of educational activities available across all Kingswood centres and increase availability for when customers want it the most;
- Expand the network of Kingswood centres to put more schools within easy reach of a Kingswood centre.
John Bentley, Inspiring Learning’s CEO, said: “Out of classroom learning and enrichment activities are key components of our country’s national curriculum as schools look to produce rounded and confident children. Inspiring Learning contributes to that aim and with the backing of a new shareholder we now have the ability to accelerate the expansion of our service offering. I look forward to working alongside BDC and drawing on their wide experience to continue to develop the work we do with children and young people.”
“We are a people business and we could not do what we do without the support and enthusiasm of thousands of teachers and group leaders who commit their time and energy to develop the next generation of young people and national citizens.”
“I would also like to thank all our staff for their hard work, loyalty and enthusiasm for all that we strive to achieve for young people.”
